Regular Maintenance Is Essential

Well-maintained courts provide a better playing experience, last longer, and keep players safe. Whether you own a facility or want to understand what good maintenance looks like, here's what goes into keeping a padel court in top condition.

Artificial Turf Care

Brush the surface monthly with specialized court brushes to redistribute sand infill evenly. Remove leaves, debris, and any foreign objects regularly. Check for worn or damaged turf sections and patch or replace as needed. Top up sand infill annually — typically 1-2 tons per court per year.

Glass Wall Maintenance

Clean glass panels regularly with appropriate glass cleaner to maintain visibility and consistent ball rebounds. Inspect for chips, cracks, or loose panels quarterly. Damaged glass is a safety hazard and should be replaced immediately. Check rubber seals between panels for deterioration.

Metal Frame Inspection

Inspect the steel frame annually for rust, especially at ground level where moisture collects. Treat any rust spots immediately with rust converter and protective paint. Check bolt tightness on all structural connections. Verify that the mesh fencing is secure and has no holes.

Lighting Maintenance

Replace burnt-out bulbs promptly to maintain even illumination. Clean light fixtures quarterly to remove dust and insects that reduce output. Check wiring connections annually. LED fixtures require less maintenance but still need periodic cleaning.

Drainage

Ensure drainage systems around the court are clear and functioning. Standing water damages the turf, accelerates rust, and creates slippery, dangerous conditions. Clear drains before the rainy season.

Schedule annual professional inspections from your court installer or a padel court specialist. They'll catch issues you might miss and can advise on replacement schedules for major components.
